Victorian Evening Celebration: On Monday the 21st of November, Year 6 invited their friends and families to come to a Victorian evening celebration. It was an opportunity for the children to show off their learning from the past term.
Article 19 of the CRC: "We have the right to be safe."
The 14th-18th November was National Anti-Bullying week; a week we always mark in school, as a whole-school, to stand up against bullying or any unkind behaviour. The pupils and staff feel very passionate about our school being a safe and happy place to learn and we are proud to show respect for the right we have, to be safe.
Our Year 4 Footballers were fantastic at the Corfe Hills School Football Festival on Thursday 17th November. They shone and made us all so proud! All of the children played with so much heart and passion!
Year 5 children, parents and staff all gathered on the evening of Thursday 17th November to gaze at our fascinating solar system. The was not too clear but a few stars made a faint appearance. This didn’t spoil our evening though, as we used a superb star gazing app called 'Skyview'!
A big congratulations to all Year 4 pupils who recently attended Leeson House on their first residential visit. The children were all amazing!
On Monday 7th of November, everyone arrived with their bags, big smiles and nervous parents in tow. The fun began as soon as we arrived at Leeson House, with a round of activities such orienteering, bird watching and sensory tasks.
The children in Year 6 have been learning about World War I and read some very descriptive and evocative poetry which helped to bring the pride, fear and horrors of the war to life.
They were then able to imagine what the soldiers could see, hear and feel and following this, wrote their own poems. They really were fantastic.
Here are only two superb examples:
Year 5 Football Festival!
You may remember that last year, we were lucky enough to have students from Corfe Hills School (CHS) support and help our children for their sports days. We believe that it is important to foster links between schools and provide our children with the experience of working with older children who love their sport.
On Tuesday 8th November, our year 5/6 football team played Upton Junior School, and the boys were brilliant! They were so keen and excited before the game started and once it started they were relentless in their desire to win the match. All 11 players gave everything they had played their socks off.
CONGRATULATIONS to all at LMPS for achieving the GOLD SCHOOL GAMES award. This is a real credit to the hard work of staff, pupils and parents of our school.
On Thursday 3rd November 2016 I went to Bearwood Primary School with three other Year 3 and 4’s for a More Able Writers day. Mrs Odgers came with us and drove us there. We met David Gatward who is a brilliant fiction writer, performance poet and illustrator. He told us about his life and his writing.
The Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Team has continued their campaign in the Poole and East Dorset Cross County league and they are doing so well!
